Seems like ever since 2000 the MTA keeps raising the fare and even though people have complaints they don't take any actions. The MTA service is horrid and to be honest it is not worth 2 dollars and 25 cents in one direction. The schedule delays, the terrible service, the filthy stations, the health concerns the poor enviornment warrants and let's not start with the infestation of rats and waterbugs, these conditions take away from the quality of service... And they want to raise the fare again...
(I'm not sure if I'm willing to pay one quarter more to sit in filth with rats and giant roaches for 15 mins while I wait on a train; maybe you are though.)
Not to mention there is discussion of CHARGING people for the METROCARD... REALLY!!!??? Hmmm....Now why would they charge us for something nobody really asked for...
Oh because it'll save their greedy butts some money and they can gain more money as if the billions of dollars they make a month is not enough. As a matter of fact if they want to eliminate the cost of creation and waste of metrocard then let's go back to the tokens. I'm still trying to figure out why the removed them in the first place.
Then let's not mention the milllions of dollars that is wasted on the metrocard machines when they breakdown and need repairs.
Then when you report to the MTA you lost money to the machine they don't even refund the entire amount you report even though you have a receipt. They give you only two fares..
Don't believe me; go buy a monthly and report it and see what you get.
They will continue to lie, cheat and steal from the public until people come to gether and BOYCOTT
