Did You know that even if you live in New York City Housng Authority (NYCHA)you can still call 311 on them. Most people living in the cities housing complexes are unaware of the fact that you can call the city on the city... Sounds like sheer irony but it's true.
Here's How It Works:
Although NYCHA is funded by the city it is not directly managed by the city. Each housing complex has it's own management office on site. Anyone living in housing knows that these offices run and functon different from eachother. They should be functioning the same but in all actuality they are not. So if your housing management office is not in compliance with city rules and regulations you can report that office to 311 and different department with in the city.
So if you are living in a housing faciltiy and your management office is neglecting necessary repairs or prolonging the response to dyer situations like peeling paint, no heat, hot water, maybe worse then you can report them to 311.
