Men, women ... humans in general try to pursue the things and people that they want in their lives. It sounds like a wonderful thing, and it is when they are pursuing things and people in which they are sure about.
People go through years of schooling and training to get a job they thought they wanted only to learn that the long hours and stressful tasks are more than they really hoped for. These same people end up sad on the job, hating it, their co-workers and eventually seek out new employment.
Most people dream of owning property and vehicles only to find that the burden is more that they can bare. Slum-lords at one point, believe it or not, eagerly wanted to own and rent property before they realized the task entails more than just getting money from renters.
Relationships are abandoned because someone lost interest in the other, out grew them became embarrassed of the other person or due to the negative impact of outside influences on the relationship. When the pursuer begins to see behavior or learn things they do not like or enjoy about the person they eagerly pursued and are quick to push the person a side just as easily as they would an inanimate object or any other desire or things that they in fact lost interest in.
Whether it was a career, person or an object, every person alive has pursued something that they have grown tired of or loss interest in that they have become unhappy with
and decide to move on from because that's what we as humans do when we lose interest in people, places or things.
