Many people are into Facebook, Twitter and other online social networking sites. In my opinion Facebook and Twitter are uniquely different from the other social networking sites. People literally get into fights, serious feuds and at times even cut people out of their lives because of Facebook posts and tweets on Twitter.
Facebook and Twitter are interpersonal,
personal social networking websites that can
cause serious problems between people and
can ruin all kinds of relationships.
Friendships are shot to hell because someone felt ignored or because someone learned a little bit more than they could handle about the other. People get made and remove others when you post or tweet a personal message or idea about a situation they were involved in even though you did not mention their name.
I call that the guilty complex syndrome. If you know the person is talking about something you've done that offended them and they did not put your name on blast then why are you mad? Oh because you are guilty.
Families are pulled apart and sibling rivalries are fueled and sometimes started over these sites.
To make matters worse people's marriages are ending and longterm relationships crash all because of feuds over the use, posts and interactions on these social networking sites.
I'm sure it doesn't have to be this way but it is unfortunately. Maybe we should all re-evaluate the use and functioning of these kinds of sites.
