Most people are unaware of the shocking fact that cats can catch a strand of the Aids virus. In a cat the strand is called Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). FIV attacks their immune system in the same fashion HIV does a human.
FIV is transmitted from cat to cat through bite wounds and large quantities of saliva. Stray male cats are at a high risk of contracting the virus because they get into fights and are often bitten by other stray cats. Female felines can pass the virus to off spring through her womb and nursing. Shockingly FIV is not transmitted through sexual activity between cats or grooming.
It is said that it is highley unlikely to pass FIV to a human. In order to insure this does not happen you want to make sure you wash your hands and avoid bites from infected felines.
I will be doing further research on FIV especially because I can't help but ponder if FIV was developed by man in an attempt to address the long lasting epidemic of HIV and Aids.
Animal Testing is wrong and I hope my thinking is proven wrong.
