Smelling The Roses

Leisure time is not taken seriously and too many individuals don’t understand why people need it. Leisure time is more than just some extra or free time. It's time that you spend away from ANY responsibilities or tasks related to work, house chores and self maintenance like sleeping, eating, grooming etc. Leisure time is something we all need but don't get enough of; when we do get it, too many people don't appreciate it.

People don't use leisure time well when they do have it. Over time people who aren't getting any real leisure time become stressed, grumpy, and seemingly bitter; sometimes they even get sick. Plenty people spend their vacations and other “could be leisure time moments”  by handling business, doctor’s appointments, catching up on bills,  neglected house chores and other things of that nature.

If we all take some time out of each day to do something that we enjoy, makes us smile, laugh or something as little as stopping to smell the roses is enough to distract us from our daily routines or those upsetting moments, we will ultimately be happier and peaceful because we are finding a way to process and release anything that is or was stressful.

The truth is that our health, mental/emotional state and our attitudes are directly affected by the daily stress factors we face each day. The benefit to effectively leisure time is being able to DE-stress everyday so you are ready mentally, emotional and physically to handle the stress of tomorrow.

Make sure you  get your leisure time in!
