In the mean time I'd like to share a poem from a book of collections with short stories and poems that I'm working on and soon will be publishing.
(I will post another blog when we get closer to the release date)
A Face in the Crowd
Me, I’m pretty
cool.
A natural at
the things I do,
Top notch, fine, and classy,
Everywhere I go there's someone trying to sass me.
I stay focused
and undistracted.
I handle my
business,
while minding my business.
I'm focused on nothing but my future success and it's
not to impress,
I could do that simply with the way I dress.
When I’m in the
street I might hear a wise crack or two,
But see me,
I never blow my cool.
What else is
there for me to do?
Defend my honor
to someone who doesn’t even know me?Oh please, I’ll over look it because I know these people don't view me properly
They can't see where I’m going or the places I want to be.
Hoping to keep me shackled and chained, by a mentality that was built to cause strain.
Secretly they hope to hold the keys to set me free.
So, you see whenever I hear a wise crack or two
Me, I keep my
coolI don't get mad, yell or shout
It doesn't make me pout, and I don't get loud
I gracefully move on because I know that to them I’m just another face in the crowd.
Written and performed by yours truly, Sarah V. Tores aka Saveto
