Social Networking Sites Do Die

We've seen social networking evolve since the first forms of chatting and chat rooms. During the 90's Aol, Aim and Yahoo were some of the best chatting hosts. Now they are almost non-existent where online social networking is concerned. In today's day and age there are full fledged dating sites and whole websites geared towards improving and enhancing peoples social networking experience.

I have to be honest and admit that it's all a headache for me especially because I like consistency and don't enjoy being involved with things that are ever changing. From Myspace to Facebook. From Facebook to twitter from twitter to Instagram... I can keep going to your linked-in accounts and many more. I feel like if these sites are going to die down and eventually become ghost towns then why are we devoting entire days and so much energy to these social networking sites...
Personally, I was perfectly fine with Myspace, but everyone deserted it for Facebook, Twitter and now Instagram. The big question in my mind now is how long before your Facebooks and Twitters get knocked out the box by the next new thing? When this happens, and I'm sure it will because technology and the needs of people are always changing, I'll be one of the few who won't feel at a complete loss because I don't devote too much time to socializing online because I know just like Myspace, one day these sites that are so popular will die. I can't help but wonder when will people realize there will be something to phase out Facebook and twitter? So then what, we just abandon these sites along with the timed out Aim and your forgotten Myspace?
