Black Friday.. What Is It Really?

It's Black Friday; and what doe that mean? Most people in today's society will tell you it means shopping, discount and sales... When I hear this I can't help but think of when this actually started and where did it originate. People are so quick to participate in Black Friday but when you ask them what it means  or who started it they have no answer other than a blank look and some blinks.
Those interested in knowing, and those who care about what they are participating in here is some truths about Black Friday:



1) The term originated in Philly between the 1950's and 1960's. It was supposed to describe the
negative traffic conditions and intensity Philly cops had to deal.

2) First uses of the term black Friday was not related to profitability.

3) The term Black Friday is also used in accounting referring to turning a profit.

Just for the record to me it's just another day of the year.
