Truth or Myth: Plastic Rice

An example of how you can test your rice. Rice should sink.

Recently I was doing research regarding diets but during the process I stumbled on several sources regarding "plastic rice". Based on my finding I attempted to engage people in discussion about the plastic rice. No one had a clue as of to what I was talking about. I decided to create this post explaining the plastic rice and provide links to sources so you can obtain information pertaining to the plastic rice controversy that began during recent years.

To my understanding plastic rice is a product made of potatoes,mixed with sweet potatoes and synthetic resin. It is said to be cheap to make, allowing producers to profit more although they argue that it would be more costly to make.

The plastic rice, also considered a "fake rice substitute" is being dismissed as a falsehood in places such as Africa, China and other parts of India. The government and health administrators of these areas investigate the claims and have ruled such claims as false and refer to the "plastic rice conspiracy" as merely a rumor and/or myth. They further claim that if plastic rice was being created it would be more costly. Despite the fact that there aren't any known, confirmed cases people continue to believe that plastic rice is in fact being created and distributed. There are several ideas to why people believe in the rumors, one being that "fake foods" have been produced in the recent past in some of the countries being accused especially China.

Despite officials attempts to dismiss this "rumor" civilians are concerned and strongly believe that several food factories in their countries are guilty of producing potentially harmful plastic rice. Their concerns have lead to many online videos providing ways to identify the plastic rice.

So far the FDA in America claims that they have not approved the sale of  the plastic rice, or have they...Would they even tell us? With all the conspiracies in most of the governments around the world I wouldn't be shocked if they were selling bad food to people everywhere. Remember the planet IS overcrowded and the resources are dwindling. Just some "food for thought" for ya.
